Sumatra Aceh
Steady hands, strong hearts, and a mission bigger than oneself—whether serving on the front lines or supporting those who do, the spirit of resilience runs deep. Sumatra Aceh from Pour Chaps embodies that same steadfastness, delivering a bold and grounding cup sourced from the highlands of Sumatra’s Aceh region.
Grown by the Permata Gayo cooperative, this single-origin coffee is more than just exceptional—it’s a testament to perseverance. Established in 2006 by farmers rebuilding their communities after years of conflict, the cooperative now supports over 2,100 smallholder farmers, including many women-owned farms. Their commitment to sustainability, education, and transparency ensures that every bean carries both quality and purpose.
This full-bodied Sumatran coffee is known for its earthy richness, deep chocolate notes, and hints of warm spice and dried fruit, creating a bold yet smooth experience. With a velvety mouthfeel and low acidity, it’s a coffee that fuels long watches, early mornings, and moments of quiet reflection.
Whether you’re gearing up for the day’s mission or finding a moment to recharge, Sumatra Aceh is a coffee that honors both the journey and those who walk it.
Recommendation: For peak freshness and full flavor, we recommend ordering whole bean coffee. Ground coffee oxidizes quickly, diminishing its delicate balance and aroma. Customer satisfaction is not guaranteed for ground coffee.
