Why Pour Chaps?

I never intended to start a business. I knew that I loved great coffee; I loved roasting it weekly and enjoying the discoveries of each new roast; and I loved sharing it with others, often gifting bags of coffee I had roasted — but I never thought of marketing my coffee…until an encounter with a young Marine changed my perspective. After offering him a sample of some coffee I had roasted only days before, his face lit up and he exclaimed, “Chaps, this coffee hits you in the soul!” That feedback and others like it forced me to seriously consider the opportunity of sharing great coffee with others on a broader scale, and led eventually to the development of Pour Chaps Coffee Company.
Pour Chaps Coffee Company draws its name from the many sources of inspiration in my personal coffee journey that sparked its creation.
When I encountered the bright, beautiful coffee with a silky taste produced through a simple skill of a well-crafted pour over, it inspired me to adopt the practice as my daily coffee ritual and to recommend it to others. Put simply, I believe the pour over is unmatched in its ability to consistently yield a balanced cup of coffee remarkable for its clarity and flavorful body.
When I experienced the flurry of flavor combinations that emerged from each sip of my first home-roasted, single-origin coffee, it inspired me to continue roasting, honing my skill and sharing my product.
When I reflected on how sharing a cup of great tasting coffee facilitates the process of making meaningful personal connections, it inspired me to utilize my home-roasted coffee in my daily ministry as tool to pour into the lives of military service members.
When I watched the bright-faced delight of friends enjoying a cup of great tasting, freshly roasted, hand-crafted coffee, perhaps for the very first time, I was inspired to offer this same experience to others by creating Pour Chaps Coffee Company.
At Pour Chaps Coffee Company, we strive to pour into the lives of those around us and help you do the same by sharing carefully roasted and finely crafted coffees.
